Our Decision to Homeschool

The decision to homeschool is (usually) not an easy one. I was feeling led to homeschool when the girls were still quite young and so I started researching the law, requirements etc. and following blogs to see how others did it especially with multiple children. The more I researched, the stronger I felt that it was the right thing to do. My husband on the other hand was... lets just say less than thrilled with the idea. He believed all of the old stereotypes that homeschool kids were weird, unsocialized and wouldn't be up to par with public school kids. After praying about it & hounding the poor man with statistics and benefits, he started coming around & agreed to let me try it out for a year, it also really helped when I told him our state (AZ) is fighting for last place in education in the country.

So here we are, halfway into our first year of homeschooling & so far everyone has survived ;) Even though it is tough & some days I want to throw in the towel, I feel that this was the right decision and God's will for us right now. For all you homeschooling momma's out there struggling right now, I just want to give you some encouragement and a virtual hug, don't give up, don't let others discourage you, you can do this! We are in this together :)
